How to Add Blue to Your Space the Minotti Way

Minotti presented their “Senza Tempo” collection last April put together by the famous Rodolfo Dordoni who has been coordinating their collections since 1997. The surprise in this collection was the emphasis on the Cobalt Blue color, an approach not usually taken by the minimalistic designs of Minotti. The way they introduced the blue gives us an idea on how to introduce such a bold color without losing the classy and neutral ambience often known as Minotti’s signature.

Interiors of The Future: Trends That Will Stay

Image from Pinterest.com

When I think of the future, I can’t help but remember how we imagined it to be back in the Eighties. Everything we thought would remain science fiction became part of our present. Touch screens, mobile phones, laser printers, carbon fiber, etc.. were all just part of movies and our imagination. Now we know, nothing is impossible and we also realized that the present and future will not be the same without going back to nature. For a couple of decades now minimalism was prevailing with the rise of technology, but not anymore. New trends have been emerging in the past few years and some are about to stay around for a while while others are perishing, visit this website and get all the details. You can also enhance any room with removable wall murals.

Google Offices

As recent interior design trends have been focusing on the operator rather than the consumer, this has created a great shift in all things design.

Workspaces, for example, are now focused on the employee rather than on the visitor or consumer. This innovative idea has been brought forth by firms such as Google, Facebook, Leo Burnett, Deloitte & Touche, Cisco, and many others. Numerous studies have suggested that a healthy and comfortable work environment produces better productivity, this may not always be true but has been an eye opening approach for many. These firms have come up with ideas we once though of as crazy, such as having pool tables, a gym, cafes, napping zones all at the company’s premises. With this in mind, the human is now the focus of all present and future trends. Focus now is on well being, healthy lifestyle, and  communication.

As a result, new design trends emerged and were made possible with the use of materials that are more human and environment friendly.

Design trends that are here to stay:

1- Bringing Nature inside, and almost every other trending material is there to compliment this one. Greenery and nature are everywhere now, restaurants and cafes, entrances, airports, homes, etc.. no space is complete without greenery anymore. It is not a surprise that Pantone’s 2017 color of the year was Greenery! From fake to natural, green is everywhere and here to stay. Integration of nature and natural elements in our spaces and through our architecture has become a requirement now. This is why we are opting more and more for large windows and focusing more on the view. It might be a psychological attempt to replace the damage that has been done to our environment in the past decades.

The hôtel Vernet is a sumptuous Parisian building in the legendary and true « Haussmann » style. An institution which has seen centuries of change, situated in just about the most perfect location, between the golden Triangle of Paris and the Place de l’Etoile on the Champs-Elysées. The Hotel Vernet celebrates its 100th birthday by entering the age of modernity.

Entirely renovated and refurbished in 2014 by its new owners, the French family owned hotel group « Bessé Signature », the Hotel Vernet revives the tradition of the great Parisian establishments of the chic 8th arrondissement of Paris by offering itself the distinction of a contemporary interior created by Interior designer François Champsaur, who pays tribute to Parisian elegance and French craftsmanship.

I love how trendy hotels are realizing the importance of interior design and furniture in creating a distinct image for their venue. To be honest, I was first intrigued by the name, but then I fell in love with the whole concept. The 118 rooms all have beautiful views.  Furniture was mainly used from B&B Italia, Minotti, and Tom Dixon.

International and Norwegian designers such as Antonio Citterio, Bruno Rainaldi, Tom Dixon, Anne Haavind and StokkeAustad are behind the furniture and decor. The hotel’s own art curator has hand-picked art for every single room and suite from the THIEF ART collection.

Pantone Reveals Color of The Year 2014- Radiant Orchid

radiant_orchid_HomeSlider_Final

Every year around this time, Pantone announces the color of the year. This decision is based on extensive research in all related fields such as fashion, beauty, and design. This year the color is Radiant Orchid. I have to say I saw this coming in someway since I noticed at many furniture fairs brands were introducing similar hues to their lines such as Minotti & Baxter.

From Pantone:

“While the 2013 color of the year, PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”

“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
