Bocci Introduces Colors To Its 28 Series Collection | Lighting Design

Bocci-28-2

Bocci has introduced a huge range of color in its 28 series collection. Creative Director Omer Arbel’s intent behind 28 was to design a system that produces form, rather than designing form itself. A magnificent success, the pendants are designed to cluster in hexagonal shapes, which nestle into one another. Adding color introduces a grand range of infinite possibilities, from clustering by similar hues to creating amazing multicolor installations. Thus, every 28 series pendant made is formally different from any other in existence.

Carlo Pazolini Boutique in Milan | Shop Design

Giorgio Borruso Design was  hired to design the Carlo Pazolini boutique in Milan located near the Duomo. The space is  4,150 square feet that formerly belonged to a McDonald’s. The main aim of the boutique is to display the brand’s shoes, however, the design approach is what is actually interesting.

Borruso wanted an artistic look that would display the relationship of shoes with feet, i.e. how shoes embrace the foot. Using felt material in collaboration with none other than Paola Lenti, he was able to make felt shaped into a leaf, the major part of his theme design. Another major attraction point is the combination of colors which are very vibrant and make a huge impact all the way outside the boutique through the massive 8 arches in the façade.

Exclusive: Inside Roche Bobois Kuwait | Part 2

Roche Bobois to many means the stylish modern and fresh contemporary furniture brand, to others its their favorite provincial style  furniture with charm written all over it. Both styles have allowed it to become one of the most popular furniture brands worldwide appealing to a very large number of tastes. In a previous post I included photos of their contemporary collection showroom here in Kuwait, in this one you see exclusive photos of Roche Bobois’ Provincial showroom located adjacent to the first one, also at 7 Zones in Shoueikh.

“Provincial” is a description which means items pertaining to the Provence of France, designers there are known for their intricate details and rustic finishes. The woodwork is mostly handmade in the Provence by craftsmen known for their skills for ages. The introduction of bright colors to many of their signature pieces gives the classic designs a twist and distinct appeal.

Roche Bobois accessories are a world of their own, some are not part of our daily lives anymore yet look wonderful within the setting they are intended for.

Hermès Furniture Collection Finally Revealed

Checking out one of my favorite websites, Yatzer, I came across their post with the Hermès collection in details as revealed in Milan this past week. Most people were looking forward to the final debut of this long awaited collection. In my post about Hermès  Maison, the collection was still vague, with information of their collaboration with Dedar for their wallpaper and home fabric collection.

Well known architects, Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, designed the exhibition space, the Hermès Pavillion , the furniture however was designed by Enzo Mari, Antonio Citterio and RDAI Studio.

The beautiful exhibition space was mainly made out of cardboard tubes woven with paper. The Pavilion  incorporated  rooms of different sizes resembling the spaces of a home, some private and some shared. When pieces have such simple structure and form, quality is crucial. The luxury prevails through the material used and the fine finishing details of every part of every piece.
