Beirut.com posted these beautiful artistic graffiti found on the streets of beirut. An artist by the name of Ginane Makki Bacho has taken the issue of discovering local street art in her own hands. Although Lebanon’s walls are more known for political messages, I actually loved the colors and compositions in these specific works. You can check Ginane’s page and Beirut.com for more.
On March 1, 2011, Kevin Lyons customized Chanel handbags at the CHANEL-COLETTE ephemeral boutique, rue Saint-Honoré, Paris for the opening of its Pop-Up shop. On display were an assortment of classic Chanel products, such as quilted bags, leather gloves and various apparel.

On a date that would have been perfect for the famous artist Salvador Dali, a museum holding his name and works opens in St. Petersburg, Florida. HOK, along with Beck Group, has designed a new museum with an architecture greatly inspired by the great surrealist, “combines elements of the classical and the fantastical,” according to the director of the museum. The design speaks to the essence of Dalí while incorporating functional elements to combat Florida’s tough weather.
The new $36 million, 66,450-square-foot museum Dali Museum houses more of the artist’s works than any other museum outside Spain, including a permanent collection of 96 oil paintings (including the 8 masterworks), 125 drawings and watercolors, 2,500 prints and photographs, 250 objets d’art, and a 5,000 book library.
While the concrete protects the art, this “treasure box” is broken and disrupted by the organic, triangulated glass “Enigma.” The glass is seen as “contrast between the rational world of the conscious and the more intuitive, surprising natural world” – a recurring theme of Dalí’s work.
Florian Nicolle Known as Neo is a graphic designer with a special style you can not go past without noticing. Her illustrations are filled with splattered paintbrushes and unfinished faces, indicating her sense of “when to stop”. This unfinished style is enough to allow your imagination to take over.
When you first check out these images, you think they are just the ordinary photos of food markets or landscape sceneries, look closed and you will realize that every element in the photo is made of a food item. The Foundation Cartier pour l’art contemporain has decided to dedicate its new exhibition to the artist Moebius. It will run from October 12,2010 to March 13, 2011 in Paris and is entitled “Moebius-Trans-Forme”.
In 2007 when Ballon Bleu de Cartier was launched, Cartier made an unexpected proposition to the French comic artist Moebius: to create a comic strip inspired by the world of this new watch, the result was Azulera, a highly original story that is just waiting to be discovered.
Paintings are very personal; their addition to any space can transform its entire character. An interior designer feels the project is complete with these valuable additions especially if they reflect a character or tell a story. In our modern times, with the advance and appreciation of forms and colors, well established proportions are essential in every artwork, if not done properly, could cause an eyesore and mess up the entire feel of the space.
In this post I will be mentioning two young Lebanese artists I had the chance to see their work evolve in the past few years. Their work is abstract yet full of emotion and character.
Paula Chahine is an artist I know personally, her work is very inspiring. Her display of the human body and its movements in addition to the vibrant colors and beautiful lines has made her very popular among those who have an appreciation for the young spirited art. The selection below is among my favorites, as an added service she does custom-made paintings, “l’art sur mesure”, to accommodate a client’s color or theme preference while maintaining her own style.
