This has to my ideal apartment. Well lit, black and white, stylish furniture, and some greenery, just ideal. The details are just beautiful. As you can tell this apartment does not involve any kids, it was designed by Ukranian designer Lera Katasonova for a couple. What makes the space special is that the space is open, there are large glass panes, and no distractions with the furniture.

The New Dubai Landmark Tower for Expo 2020 Revealed | Architecture

1

For the 2020 Expo in Dubai, the plans for a new icon to be built have just been revealed. This icon will be considered as the main landmark just as the Eiffel Tower to Paris is. During their presentation, Emaar announced that it will be taller than Burj Khalifa but still the exact height is not decided upon. Th project will be around 6 sq. km.

The project is designed by Spanish architect Calatrava and estimated to cost $1 Billion. Calatrava however is known for projects that cost much more than the anticipated budget. This is according to the Full Calatrava website which lists every single project and its budget.

Emaar Properties will attempt to deliver the new Dubai Creek tower and a linked “mega-retail district” at the same time so that they are both open by the time Dubai’s Expo 2020 event begins .

“There’s no doubt that the Eiffel Tower has inspired over 100 years,” said Mr Calatrava. “It represents a city, a whole nation. It still today is a monument. I feel so proud to be part of a team that aims to obtain a similar achievement.”

Mr Calatrava’s design was chosen by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in February following an international competition between five of the world’s top practices.

The Dubai Creek tower will mainly serve as an architectural tower than a working building, but there will be between 18 and 20 upper floors used for a hotel with restaurants, function rooms, an interior garden space and an observation deck.

The biggest date on the world’s furniture calendar falls on a Wednesday in April, marking the start of the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile, a week packed with events, exhibitions and presentations, where everyone who’s anyone on the international furniture design and manufacturing scene comes together to keep up with the latest developments in the field.

The Salone is now into its 55th year, championing innovation and internationality – in fact the number of foreign exhibitors has risen again, now making up almost 30% of all the manufacturers at the fair. It is clearly going to be an interesting edition, both in terms of the wide-ranging commercial offering from a line-up of top specialist companies on the national and international market, and in terms of the search for a balance between tradition and innovation in the name of quality and culture.

Following the success of the 2015 edition – attended by 310,840 visitors – the 2016 edition will feature the Salone Internazionale del Mobile along with the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, and more than 1,300 exhibitors ranged over 150,000 square metres, split into Classic and Design sections, making for a visitor-friendly floor plan and a 360° insight into the world of furniture and furnishing accessories. The biennial EuroCucina and its collateral exhibition FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) are back, along with the International Bathroom Exhibition.
Quality and figures that confirm the importance and attraction of an event that embodies the best of Italian and international furnishing.

Why You Should Take Naps | Health and Lifestyle

Casper_napping101_LRG

I was delighted to know that National Napping day falls on March 14th. It made me want to look more into the benefits of napping and share them with my readers. The lovely people at Casper  have prepared the info-graphic above which specifies exactly why we should all take regular naps.

If you are having problems sleeping, it has been found that CBD improved the symptoms of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD), a disorder in which a person acts out their dreams. RBD is associated with poor sleep and nightmares. A 2017 review also noted that CBDA may be helpful in treating RBD, and that it shows potential for treating excessive daytime sleepiness. Cannabis contains CBD which is a chemical that impacts the brain, making it function better without giving it a high along with THC which has pain relieving properties. Looking for a place to buy weed online? https://cannablossom.co/ is the public retailer of non-medical cannabis products and cannabis accessories. You may also want to look at the Delta Munchies homepage for other unique CBD products in the market.

My favorite is the catnap, it gives a fresh burst of energy afterwards, to me this is the ultimate purpose of a nap, if you want to help your body rest, you should check the many new products from the CBD Oil UK store. Unfortunately, i work ling shifts where i don’t get the chance to nap and hence fall apart early in the evening. I try my best to nap on the weekends even if for 30 minutes. This way I wake up refreshed and can spend a more delightful evening with my family.

Baker Launches A New Collection By Designer Kara Mann | Furniture

I was lucky enough last January to be present at the launch of the new Milling Road collection from Baker, designed by Kara Mann. Kara Mann is an interior designer based in New York & Chicago since 2005. A recognized stylemaker, Kara was called an “of-the-moment” designer by InStyle, and Vogue has appointed her a member of “The Vogue 100,” a group of influential decision makers and opinion leaders known for their distinctive taste in fashion and culture.

Mann’s work has appeared in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Traditional Home, and House Beautiful, among others. She has served on several esteemed design panels, including the Details magazine panel at La Cienega Design Quarter and the Interiors magazine West Week Panel, both in 2010. In spring of 2015, Mann collaborated with Gwyneth Paltrow on a Goop pop-up shop in Chicago that showed off her playful, relaxed, yet sophisticated sensibility.

Mann’s first collection for Milling Road updates traditional materials with details that add a sense of edginess while still reflecting luxury via clean lines and timeless designs. Her pieces are architectural, purposeful, quietly impactful and refined, and reflect her love of simplicity and dedication to fine craftsmanship.

Fendi Casa 2016 Collection Is All About Blue Velvet and Metals| Luxury Furniture

IMG_3748

One of the furniture brands I always look forward to checking out their new designs is non other than luxury brand Fendi Casa. This January they presented their latest collection for 2016 and it is all about their new favorite fabric, blue velvet, and beautiful gold and brass metals.  Velvet is definitely one of the strongest finishes making a grand comeback recently. Almost all furniture brands were adopting this versatile yet tricky finish. Many attempts are being made to make it more practical, heavy duty, yet silky smooth.
