The fashion brand French Connection just introduced a beautiful down-to-earth home collection designed by Lorraine Brennan. The collection includes lighting, linen bedding, ceramics and a small selection of furniture with emphasis on colors such as mineral blue, white, taupe, tan and grey. I liked the fresh look, crisp feeling these images have. Looking at their prices, they are considered in the affordable range.
There is nothing like a designer bag to bring out the best of any outfit, not to mention help boost a woman’s confidence. Of all the new bags out there, I am currently head over heals for Chanel’s Boy collection. I loved it since it was introduced last May.

Bottega Veneta has been pretty busy the past few years designing hotel rooms. Above is their latest from the Park Hyatt Chicago. Known for their soft and exotic leather, hotel clients staying in this room will be enjoying this luxury. The 1,400-square-foot suite offers a bedroom, open living room, kitchenette, and two bathrooms. I am expecting a furniture line by them, from the looks of these rooms you can sense a furniture “style” paving its way into the furniture world.
In addition to Chicago, there are Bottega Veneta rooms in the St. Regis of both New York and Rome, pictures below. A new one is to be designed for the St. Regis in Florence as well.
Tonelli will be introducing this smart Prisma Kitchen at Eurocucina 2012. They worked with Experientia, an experience design consultancy, to create an amazingly technologically advanced, user friendly kitchen. The “smart” lies in the kitchen’s island. The island’s surface is equipped with a sliding cutting board and built in Samsung Galaxy Tablet technology for a fully interactive and engaging kitchen experience. Other exciting features include innovative door open/close mechanisms, invisible handles, transparent top with base illumination. All these elements work together to give this kitchen an ultra modern almost futuristic feel, but cleverly wrapped in a timeless design.
Italian fashion house Marni is introducing a new collection of seating during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012. Marni is working with local charities there to employ former Columbian prisoners and help them settle back into social and working life. They created all 100 of these chairs using metal and multi-colored PVC threads.
Known for their great color blocking, it is nice to see them translate this into these chairs.
This is a beautiful residential villa in Mexico by Central de Arquitectura emphasizing horizontal stone and concrete structure. The balance in open and closed areas, the harmony in use of materials is just amazing. The water feature, large glass panels, and wooden floor deck suggests the perfect harmonious structure.
I came across Lance Ramoth’s Fotoblur portfolio, and since I am a great fan of Black and White photography I fell in love with them immediately, and thus sharing them with you here.
Lance Ramoth is a talented photographer whose images were published in B&W Magazine and Photographer’s Forum Best Of Photography 2007. He was also a Smithsonian Magazine 4th Annual Photo Contest Finalist – 2007.
One thing better than great design is great design with a cause, a cause which is dedicated for improving the lives of children with cancer . TOUFOULA, a Lebanese non-governmental organization, has been dedicated to bringing joy to the lives of children suffering from cancer and blood diseases since 2006. The NGO aims to enhance the hospital wards for the children and make it a better environment for them to be in, by turning their rooms into Dream Rooms. To help enhance their quality of life and make them endure their treatment more easily, entertainment and educational activities as well as art therapy workshops are held regularly. Part of the work is also dedicated to increasing public awareness on the threats of cancer and how to circumvent it.
PINKO, the Italian trendy women’s wear, and the symbol of glamour, seduction and fashion, is launching a limited edition Tshirt, PINKO “Love” Beirut, from which 20% of the proceeds of the sale will go to TOUFOULA.
