Ralph Lauren’s Fifth Avenue Duplex | Celebrity Homes

Photographer: Richard Corman

Ralph Lauren commissioned the late decorator Angelo Donghia to rennovate and design his Fifth Avenue Duplex. For this particular place, Lauren was motivated by a “simple, almost primitive desire for clean, open space”. Donghia became one of his closest friends, Lauren liked his clean lines and simplicity.

Lauren wanted a simple retreat, a place where white was predominant and where he felt like he was “floating on a cloud”, thus the elevated level of the living room. The apartment enjoys beautiful views and a great amount of natural light.

To add to the simplicity, the herring bone wood flooring was replaced with a more simple pattern and a slightly darker tint. Materials used in the kitchens and bathrooms are now very sleek and modern with glossy surfaces and clean lines. Furniture was replaced, banana plants were discarded.

L’hôtel Mama Shelter Marseille by Philippe Starck

“There is no project without something very powerful behind it; a human reason, social, love. A vision. Otherwise it cannot legitimately exist. We cannot separate Mama Shelter from its genesis, a simple application of a vision and a story. A human story, an encounter, affinity, a deep friendship, people who love each other. This is the starting point for everything” says Starck.

Mama Shelter hotel was originally created by Starck and Serge Trigano of Club Med fame, his sons Jeremy and Benjamin, urbanist/ philosopher Cyril Aouizerate and hotel magnate Michel Reybier. This is the second Mama hotel opening in Marseille after its debut in Paris.

From My Kitchen | Low Calorie Crepes

Yep I am a chocoholic, a big fan of warm chocolate in particular, and chocolate crepes happen to be one of my favorite desserts. I have a policy of “prioritizing” calories, in other words I would eat a high calorie meal with the condition that it’s “worth it”. Since I only like crepes filled with Nutella, I thought why not have low calorie crepes to make up for the filling. It’s sort of a compromise, less guilt for me.

This is one of the easiest recipes with only 60 calories per crepe (remember Nutella has around 100 cals per TBS, so you do the math when indulging).

For the crepes you will need:

1 egg

1/2 cup flour

1/4 tsp salt

2/3 cups fat free Milk

Just use a whisk and mix them altogether, try not to have any lumps. As you notice there is no source of fat in this recipe, no oil or butter which is unusual, this is why in addition to using a non-stick pan you will need to use non-stick cooking spray, brand doesn’t matter. Put 1/4 cup of batter in the pan, swirl it around then flip to the other side when done.

You can use any filling you want since you won’t feel guilty eating the crepe itself  😉

Enjoy!
