Luxury brand Louis Vuitton has opened a “winter resort” store in Switzerland winter-sports resort, Gstaad which was originally built in 1913 and located on the renowned Promenade.

The Maison showcases its stylish and elegant collections in the warm ambience of a winter ski chalet, a setting surrounded by authenticity and tradition, filled with new emotions and experiences.

The opening is a tribute to one of Europe’s best-known winter (and summer) destinations, which is celebrating its 700th anniversary in 2012. Following this new architectural concept, the store features a sophisticated salon to invite clients to relax next to an open fire and a Christmas Trunk composition celebrating the know-how and magic of Louis Vuitton’s special orders.

Souk, A Lebanese Food Market, in Greece | Restaurant Design

K-Studio designed a 24-hour Lebanese Food market called Souk located along the coastline in Athens, Greece.

Yatzer described the project:

A feast for both the plate and the palette, it has been inspired by the characteristic features of Beirut – a multi-faceted city of historical and contemporary culture, religion, architecture and design. Souk sweeps you off your feet and offers you an escape and an adventure that is a real feast for all the senses.

Fresh, warm, eclectic and very inviting, the atmosphere in Souk is certainly stimulating. This incredible new restaurant provides a relaxed, sociable and fun dining journey. Imagine wandering around enjoying the delicious scent of the food, perusing eclectic stalls set in structural concrete columns on an easy to navigate grid. Imagine stopping to watch talented chefs using fresh ingredients to prepare various Lebanese delights such as, 'Manaoushi', 'Saj' and‚ 'Taouk' right in front of you. Yes, it's a real place and the hardest part of going to Souk, is deciding which of the delicious dishes on offer to choose from. The food is complimented with extra delights which result from the magical design of this dining space. As you follow the mosaic pathway on a culinary and aesthetic adventure you know that you have found a unique environment in which to relax and feast.

Pantone Reveals Color of The Year 2013 | Trends

pantone header

PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, is the Color of the Year for 2013.

The 2012 color of the year, PANTONE 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, provided the energy boost we needed to recharge and move forward. Emerald, a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.

Most often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, the perception of Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Since antiquity, this luminous, magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. Also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity, no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.

“The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”

The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University (MSU) By Zaha Hadid | Architecture

Zaha-Hadid-Architecture-Design-08

A friend of mine studying at MSU sent me an image of this beautiful museum by Zaha Hadid Architects  which I found was a bit different than her other work yet still very powerful. The museum is known as The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum and is located at Michigan State University (MSU), Michigan, U.S.A.

This Museum at MSU will serve as both an educational resource for the campus community and a cultural hub. It will present contemporary works within a historical context through access to a study collection of more than 7,500 objects, ranging from the Greek and Roman periods to modern art.

“The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University is committed to exploring international contemporary culture and ideas through art. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid, the museum features a striking façade of pleated stainless steel and glass, signaling the museum and the university’s dynamic vision. More than 70 percent of the 46,000-square-foot facility is dedicated to exhibition space. The museum is named for Eli and Edythe Broad, longtime supporters of Michigan State University, who provided the lead gift for the museum.”
