A Glamorous Parisian Apartment Using Ochres and Grey Color Palette

As much as this apartment is charming it is glamorous at the same time. A lovely contrast of matt and metallic finishes in an elegant palette of greys and golds are what make the space look so unique. Jean Louis Deniot designed this Paris apartment for himself.

Cozy And Modern House In South Africa | Interiors

Modern interiors have always been my preference due to the fact that I am not a fan of anything complicated. I am, however, a big fan of incorporating trends in a classic way that would live through the times. In this particular house the use of timber prevailed in the design and though might seem much, i found the materials and colors used very coherent and subtle. The warm wood, cold cement, and custom made furniture following the shapes in the house were blended beautifully. The number of bedrooms is quite intriguing as well. Below you will find the description of the space as written by the interior designers themselves.

Charming Parisian Apartment | Interiors

Gilles et Boissier Home

In this beautiful mostly white interior of designers’ Gilles & Boissie 19th century apartment, you will find a unique contrast which combines both the classic background but furnished in modern pieces and abstract art work. According to Elle Decoration UK edition, they used products from their own design as well as others they loved done by close friends such as the artwork and photos.

I love how they respected the history of the space and yet furnished it in a way that would make the space comfortable and cozy. I particularly loved the Herring Bone flooring especially in that ash finish.

Maison & Objet starts today and takes place in France as every year. This year, however, they have come up with an iPhone App and have a facebook page to update you with all the details and events taking place.

This year’s Designer of the Year is Odile Decq, an award-winning French architect and academic. She is the leading architect at the Paris firm, Odile Decq Benoît Cornette, Architectes-Urbanistes or ODBC Architectes.

“Partnered with Benoît Cornette, international renown came early in 1990 with a first major contract from the Banque Populaire de l’Ouest in Rennes. It’s the birth of a new hope arising which blasted crusty old conventions. In 1996, the firm’s innovative work was awarded the gold Lion at the 6th Mostra in Venice. Since, Odile Decq recently designed the MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome) in 2010 as well as the restaurant in Paris’s Opera Garnier in 2011 and the FRAC (Regional Foundation for Contemporary Art) in Rennes, Brittany, in 2012.”

Based on the wish of Abdullah, a little boy who had cancer and did not want to spend any more time in hospital,  KACCH (Kuwait Association for the care of Children in Hospital ) organized a specialized medical team to help Abdullah’s mother take care of her son at home until. He died  six months later  but  was surrounded by his family and favorite things.
