Rod Stewart To Open The New SSE Hydro In Scotland Designed by Foster and Partners

The SSE Hydro, Scotland’s largest purpose-built public event arena, will open to the public with a concert by Rod Stewart on 30 September. Its free spanning roof of 120 metres, large enough to encompass Glasgow's Queen Street railway station, encloses a highly flexible amphitheatre for an audience of up to 13,000. Externally, the arena is wrapped in lightweight translucent panels taking the excitement of the concert to the city – the whole building can be illuminated to glow as a beacon of colour on the waterfront.

Veer Lebanon Boutique Hotel and Resort | Travel

Our anniversary is coming! My friend told me that they celebrated their anniversary to a Boutique hotel in Flagstaff Arizona. We did the same. This summer my husband and I decided to go to Veer Boutique Hotel in Kaslik, Lebanon for a couple of days for our anniversary. I made the booking through booking.com after checking out the great reviews. The resort opened last summer but I had no idea there was a hotel there.
The hotel has a separate entrance than the pool area but you still need to pass through the poolside to reach the hotel rooms. The image above is of the private villas which also have a see-through private pool.

My Selections From Fendi Casa 2013 | Luxury Furniture

soho

2013 was a big year in the furniture industry, nevertheless in the luxury sector. I was really impressed with top brands coming up with so many new pieces and trends. Fendi Casa was no exception, and to be honest, I think they were the brand with the most number of newly introduced and launched items. They released sofas, cabinets, beds, lighting, high end chandeliers, and accessories, in addition to new details and fabrics.  Their tables were out of this world, I think I need a separate post for that!  Here I will just post a few of the items that caught my attention in terms of detail, design, and finish. In the photo above is the magnificent Soho sofa which is shown here as a sectional. Very modern, yet the details reveal quite an eye for luxury finishing. If you want to see it in person they have one at Design Circle in Tilal Mall, Kuwait.

Ber House In South Africa | Luxury Villa Design

Ber-014

This is what a masterpiece looks like, a wonderful display of horizontal volumes with an intricate diagonal playful effect in the façade.

House Ber, by Nico van der Meulen Architects and M Square Lifestyle Design,  is an indication of what happens when granite, steel, light and water come together. Situated in Midrand, House Ber presents itself as a sequence of irregular steel bars randomly placed creating patterned façades which initially were conceived to represent security but now have become the very feature which distinguishes this house from its surrounding.

Workshop By SOMA Is Winner Of Best Restaurant In The Americas | Restaurant Design

WORKSHOP

Three Years ago I posted about Park 51 in New York,  a project assigned to Michel Aboud ,   a Lebanese  architect  who graduated from American University of Beirut prior to continuing his studies in the U.S.A.  His name shone then, since it was a controversial project, and continued since. He and his team opened an office in Beirut, Lebanon and have several Avant-garde projects at hand.It was lovely seeing one of their projects, Workshop, get awarded with the  best restaurant in the Americas. Check out the photos in this post and description by SOMA below.
