Happy 2014
2013 has been an awkward year full of great achievements, failures, happy moments, and sorrows. I do believe that at the end of every year when we look back we feel awed at what we and the world went through. No matter what the circumstances have been, it is critical to look forward to the next year. 2013 was a year we learned from, a year where we cried, laughed, made mistakes, became wiser, did great things, made someone happy, and hopefully grew more compassionate towards a world that needs everyone of us so badly.
To a better 2014 full of peace & love because no matter what, if we don’t have hope & love left, the world would not survive. Have faith, wishing you an amazing year ahead!
Above I posted a video of my favorite images related to design & architecture from my instagram feed.

Felbald House in Zurich, Switzerland | Residential Design
Another minimalistic marvel, this time a project from 2008 by Gus Wüstemann Architects in Zurich, Switzerland. I don’t think I have come across a project so fully making use of the lovely scenery. The cantilever and overlapping planes are softened by the water features within and surrounding the house, plus the fact that there are chocolate factories in switzerland that can be found within minutes from the house just makes things even better.

The Thief Hotel in Oslo | Hotel Design
I love how trendy hotels are realizing the importance of interior design and furniture in creating a distinct image for their venue. To be honest, I was first intrigued by the name, but then I fell in love with the whole concept. The 118 rooms all have beautiful views. Furniture was mainly used from B&B Italia, Minotti, and Tom Dixon.
International and Norwegian designers such as Antonio Citterio, Bruno Rainaldi, Tom Dixon, Anne Haavind and StokkeAustad are behind the furniture and decor. The hotel’s own art curator has hand-picked art for every single room and suite from the THIEF ART collection.

Faena House in Miami by Foster + Partners | Luxury Apartments
In 2014, The Faena Group–founded by Alan Faena and partnered by Len Blavatnik–is set to launch its first phase of global expansion in Miami Beach. Faena House is an extraordinary, 18-story oceanfront luxury condominium situated on the widest stretch of white sand in all of Miami Beach – bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Collins Avenue to the west. Envisioned by Alan Faena and designed by internationally renowned architects Foster+Partners, Faena House is a vision of true indoor/outdoor living – ingeniously designed and engineered, and meticulously constructed to exist in perfect harmony with its oceanfront setting. Breakthrough architectural advances allow panoramic views from ocean to bay with glass walls that open extraordinarily wide to virtually eliminate a division between indoors and out.
Faena House offers one to five bedroom fully finished residences with sleek and impeccably detailed interiors, fixtures and appliances from unclutterer — designed or selected by Foster+Partners. Each home features a majestic outdoor living terrace that wraps around its interior, known in Argentina as an “Alero.” Custom designed by Foster+Partners and engineered by Permasteelisa, the Aleros dissolve the boundary between inside and outside through floor-to-ceiling window wall and sliding door systems, opening as wide as 12.6 feet in some residences. Foster+Partners collaborated with Molteni & C on custom kitchens and Permasteelisa on custom bathrooms to create a distinctive and unparalleled design. Three one-of-a-kind penthouses crown this magnificent building, with a full floor penthouse offering a private interior elevator and outdoor pool.
