Simple Sayadieh Recipe (Fish with Rice) | From My Kitchen

Sayadieh

One of my favorite Lebanese/ Arabic dishes is Sayadieh, it is basically a great way to incorporate fish into our diet specially for those who are not big fish fans, aka children. Done in the orthodox way, this is considered one of the elaborate recipes, but being a full time working mom, i won’t deprive my family from such a nutritious meal because of a complex recipe, which is why i simplified it. This is an easy ‘shortcut’ method, so please don’t judge 🙂

for all dishes that have rice within the recipe, it is highly recommended to use long grain rice, known as American rice, or in our region ‘Uncle Bens’.

Wirra Willa Pavilion in Australia| Architecture

ww2.png

Wirra Willa is a tiny, tranquil pavilion located in Somersby, NSW, Australia, on an 80-acre property that formerly operated as a citrus fruit orchard. Architect Matthew Woodward designed a 72 sq.m pavilion for his father surrounded by a 36 square meter courtyard. This purpose of this pavilion is to provide the father with a place to reflect and relax.

The beautiful pavilion can be used as a private guest house, floating over a lovely pond. The materials used and sleek lines go perfectly with the surrounding, complementing it exquisitely.

‘To gain the approvals of the local council, the building had to be raised twice during the building process. The area is flood-prone and the finished floor level had to be half-a-meter above the “1 in 100 year” flood level although there is a dam with two overflow spill ways. In spite of the two forced raises, the structure has retained its feel of floating and the residents can still enjoy the sensation of walking on water.’

I feel I can live there forever… just kidding, but a couple of hours would be great 😉

Jesolo Lido Pool Villa, Italy by JM Architecture | Residential Villas

jmarchitecture_jesololidopool_03

The Jesolo Lido Pool Villa is the first of a development for 9 single-family residences in the beach town of Jesolo Lido, Italy. The villa is a custom designed prefabricated wood structure, and it was built and furnished in only 6 months. Energy-saving high standards have been applied to the shell to guarantee maximum comfort and almost zero costs throughout the four seasons. The building features wood structures as a flexible and anti-seismic system which also avoids thermal bridges. The 31 cm of perimeter insulation, argon-gas insulated glass facades, 10 kw of photovoltaic panels installed on the roof and the interior / exterior led light fixtures co-operate in making a technologically contemporary building. Because of the small dimensions of the plot, the design goal has been directed in leaving as much open space as possible. The indoor living area has transparent sides which opens towards two different-sized patios. The largest one features a long swimming pool, which takes the entire length of the space, and two planted square inserts. An olive tree is the main three-dimensional element in the patio and it’s placed next to the staircase which leads to the underground level, where the storage and technical rooms are located.
