My blog is 2 months old already, I would like to celebrate with you by posting this really easy and tasty recipe anyone can do at home.
I was watching the food network the other day and saw Nigella making these yummy chocolate pots! She was explaining that they were named by her son who was six years old back then. I loved making them because of how easy they are to prepare, especially compared to the more elaborate Fondant au Chocolat recipe I posted earlier. This is a very kid friendly dessert, they will love it!
Choco Hoto Pots
(adapted from Nigella’s TV show)
- butter, for ramekins
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup superfine sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
Melt semi-sweet chocolate with unsalted butter in a double boiler. Leave to cool. To cheat you can put them a bit in the microwave and just mix them, works all the time
Whisk together eggs and caster sugar. Mix in flour.
Fold egg, sugar and flour mix into the chocolate butter mix.
Spoon the mix into small buttered ramekins (less than a cup in size) or little teacups. Only fill to about 2/3 full. You should have enough for 4.
Place ramekins onto a baking tray. Bake in a 200C oven for 20 minutes. The pots will be piping hot so leave to cool down a bit. Expect the tops to sink down. Serve warm.
The top is a crackly crust, the outside is moist fudgy cakey goodness and the centre is warm molten chocolate. So good. And so fast. They take no time at all.
Bon Appétit
Hey there! Love your site 🙂
I have a couple of questions about this recipe.
Is it caster sugar similar to powder sugar? Or is it just a finer version of granulated sugar?
Thanx! I Love yours too! I always check it out, very creative 🙂
Yes caster sugar is powder sugar:)
