I love how this interview was done, simple and perfect for such a charming and down to earth character as Sarah Jessica Parker. Her house resembles her character a lot. Check the video to see what I am talking about.

2013 was a big year in the furniture industry, nevertheless in the luxury sector. I was really impressed with top brands coming up with so many new pieces and trends. Fendi Casa was no exception, and to be honest, I think they were the brand with the most number of newly introduced and launched items. They released sofas, cabinets, beds, lighting, high end chandeliers, and accessories, in addition to new details and fabrics. Their tables were out of this world, I think I need a separate post for that! Here I will just post a few of the items that caught my attention in terms of detail, design, and finish. In the photo above is the magnificent Soho sofa which is shown here as a sectional. Very modern, yet the details reveal quite an eye for luxury finishing. If you want to see it in person they have one at Design Circle in Tilal Mall, Kuwait.
It occurred to me that i have posted several times about the Hermes furniture line but haven't actually posted the details of the items in the collection. Known for their architectural spirit in their designs in general whether in their bags or accessories, it is only natural for Hermes to apply the same approach to their furniture. As it is already known, architect Antonio Citterio designed their debut collection and Philippe Nigro worked on the latest one presented last April during Salone Del Mobili. Below are the details as described on the Hermes website.
PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, is the Color of the Year for 2013.
The 2012 color of the year, PANTONE 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, provided the energy boost we needed to recharge and move forward. Emerald, a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.
Most often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, the perception of Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Since antiquity, this luminous, magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. Also the color of growth, renewal and prosperity, no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity.
“The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”

PANTONE has revealed its top 10 fashion colors for Spring 2013 with ‘Monaco Blue’ topping the list for spring 2013 and revealed as used by 13.2% of fashion designers including Herve Leger and Tommy Hilfiger.
According to PANTONE Color Institute’s executive director, Leatrice Eiseman, she describes Monaco Blue as a “wonderful, calming and anchoring color” to the rest of collection.
PANTONE’s remaining 9 colors are 'Dusk Blue’, ‘Emerald’, ‘Grayed Jade’, ‘Linen’, ‘Poppy Red’, ‘African Violet’, ‘Tender Shoots’, ‘Lemon Zest’ and ‘Nectarine’ shown below. As you notice the trend is towards calmer colors than what have seen in the past season.
