Gucci Opens a Restaurant in Florence

After the tremendous success Gucci has been having since Alessandro Michele took over as the main designer, now they are opening a new concept store in Florence which will also be serving pasta among other delicacies by non other than Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura of the Modena-based Osteria Francescana. The place is known as Gucci Osteria and located on the ground floor at the Gucci Museo , which opened in 2011 at the ancient Palazzo della Mercanzia. The Osteria will serve iconic Italian dishes as well as contemporary twists on classics for all-day dining.

I am not sure of their choice any why they went for such a loud green but because it’s Gucci, everything is allowed 😉 The design is very basic but nonetheless cozy and charming.

Louis Vuitton Introduces Its First Smart Watch | Fashion

Just after Apple collaborated with Hermes on their smart watch, now Louis Vuitton came up with its own version of a luxury smart watch, the Tambour Horizon in partnership with Google and Qualcomm. This watch was  designed to serve the world traveler—Vuitton’s core customer. The watch costs anywhere from  $2,450 to $2,900.

With the Tambour Horizon you can select the digital face you want. It has 30 easily interchangeable straps for men and women, it notifies you of calls, texts, and emails; has an alarm, a step counter, indicates the weather, in addition to time.

The great news is for customers living in China, currently they have to buy 2 different watches when they travel, with the LV watch they will only have to buy one as it operates on both world and Chinese systems.

Would you consider buying it?

House of Dior New Boutique in Seoul | Architecture

Designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc and inspired by Dior’s couture lines,  the new House of Dior Boutique is all about the curves found in flowing fabric, details such as the stitching represent the fine tailoring of Dior’s Parisian couture. He started his first research on the project back in 2011, and just opened this June.

“I thought about the movement of the fabrics, the weaving effects, and I created a facade that would explore these elements,” the architect explains. “This white softness is like the couturier’s toile when he’s at work. It has a sense of movement that plays with light. This sculptural suppleness was my starting point.” The House archives also inspired the building’s final form: the movement of those immense architectural sails is strongly reminiscent of the dresses Cyclone and Cocotte, designed by Christian Dior in 1948. With the House of Dior building , his two great passions, for haute couture and architecture, come together in a unique creation.
