Louis Vuitton unveils a new collection of bags and accessories designed with the artist, Jeff Koons.

In recent years, Louis Vuitton has affirmed its engagement with the world of art through a series of high-profile collaborations with the most influential artists of our times.

In the French House’s latest collaboration, Louis Vuitton is working with the New York-based artist Jeff Koons to create a new range of bags and accessories to be launched on April 28th.

One of the most widely recognized figures in contemporary art, Koons has brought imagery from his long-standing ‘Gazing Ball’ paintings – a series of large-scale hand-painted reproductions of works by the Old Masters – to a range of Louis Vuitton products. His re-creations of masterpieces by da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh have been transposed on to such iconic Louis Vuitton bags as the Speedy, the Keepall and the Neverfull.

Alserkal Avenue and Atassi Foundation to present collection of Syrian art| March 9- April 3, 2017 | Dubai Exhibitions

Syria: Into the Light to feature more than 60 works by Syrian masters and emerging artists

Alserkal Avenue and the Atassi Foundation have revealed details about Syria: Into the Light, the Atassi Foundation’s largest-ever exhibition and its first in the MENA region since its formation last year. The show will mark Alserkal Avenue’s inauguration of Concrete, a multi-disciplinary, multi-purpose event venue designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), founded by Rem Koolhaas. The exhibition will open on 9 March 2017 and close on 3 April 2017.

Curated by Mouna Atassi, the founder of Atassi Foundation, in collaboration with writer and curator Rasha Salti, the show will be based on the theme of ‘Portraits and Figures’ and will include more than 60 works by over 40 artists illustrating the landscape of Syrian art from 1924 up to 2016. Through this theme, the exhibition will highlight the trajectories and shifts of art movements in Syria and its socio-cultural histories, from the early 20th century until the present day, representing different movements, techniques and mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and video art.

Yazan Paints Sabah on The Streets Of Beirut | Street Art

Yazan Halwani, a graffiti/street artist born & raised in Beirut, Lebanon,  painted a grand mural in Hamra, Beirut as a tribute to the legendary Lebanese singer Sabah who passed away in November 2014. The mural shows the singer smiling, revealing her friendly character and a great welcome to those entering Hamra street.

The idea of this exhibition is beautiful in every way. The fact that the artist designed 12 sculptural shoes representing 12 different relationships in his life and crafted with such beautiful detail is amazing. On the website dedicated to this exhibition, he has a story written under each of the shoes representing the relationship that inspired it. I attached the photos of the images available till today, will add the last one once uploaded to his website. Which one is your favorite?

Amazing Shots From Hajj 2012 | Photography

Around 3 Million Muslims from around the world gathered this year in Mecca for the Hajj (pilgrimage) which is considered the 5th pillar of Islam and this year was observed between October 24-29, 2012.

The Atlantic compiled beautiful photos taken by  Hassan Anmar of AP Photo and Amr Abdallah Dalsh of Reuters showing the holiness of this event and its traditions and the steps and emotions that occur during this sacred journey. The long exposure shots show the flow of the pilgrims around the holy Kaaba.
