This certified LEED Platinum new four-story home establishes an understated but dignified urban presence on an atypically wide San Francisco site. A transitional two-story glass-walled entry hall draws users to an airy and open living level. An increasingly light stair element transitions from floor to floor ultimately arriving at a roof deck enjoying panoramic views.

LV House by A-Cero| Residential Design

Another house by the famous A-Cero architects. The most impressive elements in this project are the sculptural staircase and the organically shaped outdoor pool. As with all of their projects, the architecture is minimal and modern. I think they could have done better with the furniture though.

Kourtney Kardashian home12- UPDKS

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have just purchased the Calabasas estate of former NFL star wide receiver and current ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson. They are now neighbors with pop star Justin Bieber. I am not a fan of either one of them, but I thought it would be nice to check out a property they bought for $8.5 million!

Fall House by Fougeron Architects | Residential Design

One of my favorite projects for 2014 so far has been the Fall House in California by Fougeron Architects. It is crucial for a house with a view to make use of every part of that beauty. This is exactly what the architects did. Simple interiors, yet fully open spaces to an extraordinary setting.

Wirra Willa Pavilion in Australia| Architecture

ww2.png

Wirra Willa is a tiny, tranquil pavilion located in Somersby, NSW, Australia, on an 80-acre property that formerly operated as a citrus fruit orchard. Architect Matthew Woodward designed a 72 sq.m pavilion for his father surrounded by a 36 square meter courtyard. This purpose of this pavilion is to provide the father with a place to reflect and relax.

The beautiful pavilion can be used as a private guest house, floating over a lovely pond. The materials used and sleek lines go perfectly with the surrounding, complementing it exquisitely.

‘To gain the approvals of the local council, the building had to be raised twice during the building process. The area is flood-prone and the finished floor level had to be half-a-meter above the “1 in 100 year” flood level although there is a dam with two overflow spill ways. In spite of the two forced raises, the structure has retained its feel of floating and the residents can still enjoy the sensation of walking on water.’

I feel I can live there forever… just kidding, but a couple of hours would be great 😉
